Ben Seymour is a maker, teacher and storyteller who has been building for the web since the mid 1990s. He builds things, shares what he learns, and helps people see what technology can make possible. His interests connect the craft of the web with a more intentional use of technology: encouraging meaning, gratitude, compassion and purposeful living.

Longer bio

Ben Seymour brings more than 25 years of experience with the web to a practice rooted in making, teaching and storytelling. He spent more than five years at Vercel, joining as its first dedicated Sales Engineer and going on to lead its Rest of World Field Engineering team. He enjoys turning complex technical ideas into something people can understand, try and build upon. Ben is the author of Practical Responsive Images and co-author of the Media chapter of the 2020 Web Almanac. His work spans web performance, responsive imagery, technical communication and small experiments that connect the digital and physical worlds. Alongside his professional work, he builds projects that explore connection, family stories and intentional living. Making is both the work and a way of thinking: following an idea, building something, and seeing what happens.
