I suspect I am not alone in realising I had developed many different 'characters' (Dad, husband, friend, consultant, developer, commuter, formula 1 fan, cyclist, driver) - each with different perspectives and emphasis (sometimes contradictory).

If you really want to find a role and team that suits 'you' ... be more 'you' in the interview stages. Consider declining role that won't support being the 'you' you are and would like to be. Read the books, and listen to the talks, but interpret it all through your own voice

Get to know yourself better... Give yourself the time and focus to ponder what you really care deeply about (this can change over time). Ideally take up a role that at least in part enables you to be more the 'you' you are currently, or that you aspire to be.

@_beneverard In winter I have anti-SAD bulbs in my office main ceiling lights - at first looks crazy bright.... the when you leave an hour later, everywhere else look yellow and strangely dim

@adamauckland I’ve had it as a secondary platform for ages... and as other platforms came and went, it stayed still, and by virtue of its lack of development it has remain reliable long term, and therefore valuable.
